circle.cycle.loop is a piano and percussion quartet piece commissioned by icarus Quartet as part of their 2024-2025 iQ Tests program. Inspired by the irregular, rhythmic Morse code translations of the words “circle,” “cycle,” and “loop,” Texter creates a dreamy, but strangely interlocked soundscape. Toward the end of the piece, a microphone running through a Max/MSP program acts as a new instrument which leads to a unique performance for every audience.
